Sipadan Water Village is a resort beautifully constructed with Bajau architectural design. Part of the Mabul Island is also home to groups of Bajau fishermen who have built their traditional palm thatched houses over water. The entire resort is built over water on stilts. In its design, Sipadan Water Village has achieved near utopia in its over-the-water layout, splendid water cottage accommodations with flowered sidewalks, wonderfully prepared Asian and Continental cuisine, and impeccable and personable service.
Due to the fact that the marine life found around Mabul Island varies greatly from that of Sipadan Island, combination of the two islands for diving make a diver's diving holiday more complete. Mabul and Kapalai is heaven for studying the micro aspects of marine life and guarantees hours of fascinating fish watching with ample opportunities for photography. At world-renowned Sipadan Island, divers get different experience as one dive amongst the giants of sea and its only 20 minutes away from the comforts of Sipadan Water Village.

| SHIPS TO REEFS LEGISLATION STEAMS THROUGH CALIFORNIA SENATE |
 |
|
In another coup for California Ships to Reefs (CSTR), the critical bill AB 634 sailed through the State Senate Monday June 28th, by unanimous consent. The bill, which will protect state and local agencies from liability in the event of diving accidents on artificial reefs, is now on its way to the Governor's desk for final approval.
"Thanks to the hard work of our members and the many people who sent emails, faxes and letters through every step of this process, our bill passed through both houses of the state legislature without a single no vote," said Joel Geldin, Chairman and CEO of CSTR. "This is a remarkable accomplishment and gives our organization more political credibility. We can clearly get things done and unite people across the political spectrum."
The bill is a crucial cornerstone to CSTR's mission to create a network of artificial reefs on the California coast, building new diving and fishing sites and helping revive the ocean environment. For local and state agencies to approve these projects they must know they will be exempt from the kind of liability AB 634 protects them against.
"Artificial reefing is a win-win solution," noted Geldin. "We sink decommissioned military or commercial ships which would otherwise just be scrapped. We create rich new ocean environments. And we bring in lots of new money in recreational dollars spent at reefing sites. The unanimous support we gained on this vote proves the legislature understood our message and sees the value of our mission."California Ships to Reefs is a 501(c)(3) non-profit public benefit corporation seeking to reef surplus ships as artificial reefs, bringing diving and fishing tourism to local ports in California and enhancing the ocean environment.

| SCIENTISTS WARN GULF OF MEXICO SEA FLOOR FRACTURED BEYOND REPAIR |
 |
|
"According to Sagalevich's report, the oil leaking into the Gulf ofMexico is not just coming from the 22 inch well bore site being shown on American television, but from at least 18 other sites on the "fractured seafloor" with the largest being nearly 11 kilometers (7 miles) from where the Deepwater Horizon sank and is spewing into these precious waters an estimated 2 million gallons of oil a day.
Interesting to note in this report is Sagalevich stating that he and the other Russian scientists were required by the United States to sign documents forbidding them to report their findings to either the American public or media, and which they had to do in order to legally operate in US territorial waters."
However, Sagalevich says that he and the other scientists gave nearly hourly updates to both US government and BP officials about what they were seeing on the sea floor, including the US Senator from their State of Florida Bill Nelson who after one such briefing stated to the MSNBC news service "Andrea we're looking into something new right now, that there's reports of oil that's seeping up from the seabed...which would indicate, if that's true, that the well casing itself is actually pierced...underneath the seabed. So, you know, the problems could be just enormous with what we're facing."
