PADI Discover Scuba Diving
You always wanted to try it, but never had the time or
were unsure about a full certification course?
When you participate in a Discover Scuba Diving program with Ocean Adventures, you will discover excitement, adventure, freedom and serenity. Nothing compares to the "weightless" exhilaration of breathing underwater. Only a diver knows that feeling!
What do I need to start?
- Minimum age: 10
- A completed and signed Discover Scuba Diving
brochure
- Signed Medical Certification Statement (download here)
What will I do?
You will start your experience at Ocean Adventures with your equipment fitting. You will then be briefed on basic safety precautions.
The Discover Scuba Diving program lets you experience the
thrill of diving under the supervision of a PADI Professional
in a pool or pool-like conditions first. During your adventure, you'll
master some basic concepts and scuba skills and might even head
off to experience an open water adventure.
During our journey to the beautiful island of Catalina you will learn about the different types of the marine life that you may encounter when we take our dive at California’s famous Casino Point. Your instructor will guide you through the practice of a few simple skills, and then accompany you on an amazing journey. As you enter the beautiful kelp forests, you will see the State of California marine fish the Garibaldi. You could encounter many other creatures such as bat rays, horn sharks, Pacific lobster and much, much more.
$149 for pool experience only, $499 for Ocean and pool experience: Includes all equipment, transportation, and 3 instructor supervised dives at Catalina Park.
How long will it take?
Get ready to dive today! After you are briefed with the Discover Scuba Diving Flip
Chart, you'll enter the water quickly and ready for your scuba
adventure. Just the pool experience will take about half a day; if you are going to the ocean as well, reserve another full day!
What will I need?
A sense of adventure and your bathing suit / board short.
Where can I go from here?
As soon as you Discover Scuba Diving, you're on your way to
an internationally recognized certification. That's because
you may learn skills used in the PADI Open Water Diver course
during your Discover Scuba Diving adventure. If you and your
instructor elect to practice these skills, they may be credited
toward the PADI Open Water Diver certifications.
